The Project

The continued transnational integration of logistics causes and demands the continuous development and integration of competencies of all involved actors. The PROLOG project aims to contribute to the satisfaction of these demands by developing a qualification model which is geared towards actual roles and processes in logistics and satisfies the competency needs of business and employees. A vital criterion for this qualification model is the feasibility of implementation in a work process and practice-oriented environment. Through this, PROLOG hopes to contribute to the internationalisation of regulated vocational education and the implementation of the vocational education policy within the European Community.

PROLOG will develop and evaluate further training profiles in the logistics sector that are applicable in a pan-European context. Exemplary prototypical occupational profiles – derived from logistical processes, job func-tions and competence descriptions – are to be generated. These profiles, in connection with suitable training models, will be tested and evaluated in the participating enterprises.

PROLOG supports:

  • the improvement of skills and competencies of employees;
  • the improvement of the quality of further training and access thereto;
  • the development of the social dialogue in vocational education and the promotion of a European sector policy;
  • the transparency of qualifications in a sector in which a complicated and deficient further training market predominates and existing offers cannot claim representativeness or universality.
